Inconvenient Indian
2021

Inconvenient Indian dives deep into the brilliant mind of Thomas King, an Indigenous intellectual, master storyteller, and author of the bestselling book, The Inconvenient Indian. With his cab driver Coyote by his side, King takes us on a critical journey through the colonial narratives of North America and invites us to bear witness to the stories of Indigenous creators whose work disrupts these narratives.

"An evocative and visually ripe love poem to Canadian Indigenous culture."
Jude Dry - Indiewire

"Inconvenient Indian is the kind of film that inspires action. This is vibrant and essential activist cinema...grounded in the promise of a better future."
Barbara Goslawski - That Shelf

"Poetic and engaging, the film cements Latimer's reputation as one of Canada's most intriguing and playful practitioners of the cinematic form."
Barry Hertz - Globe and Mail

"A showcase for [Michelle] Latimer's own developing chops as a formalist, a journalist, and a polemicist, it's dazzling."
Adam Nayman - Cinemascope
